“Steve
Jamison’s work is an insight into the evolution of his ideas
and work during his year as the Levy-Plumb artist in
residence. Originally
an architect, what has come out of a year away from the
discipline shows few of the precise lines and calculated
spaces he was trained for.
Rather, he has gone back to the beginning, returning to
paint, revisiting earlier experiments with a maturing
approach. The
results are fascinating and refreshing.”
“While
everyone who sees it will take what they want from each
picture, certain themes recur and challenge.
Here, the focus is the story of the human body and
changing ways of seeing it.”
