Vanessa Whitehouse
Born in 1964, granddaughter to Alfred Jobson Brown, a well known artist of his time, who exhibited in London and Paris and worked closely with the Bloomsbury group in Sussex. I was encouraged from an early age to paint and draw and even as a young child I was fascinated by the constantly changing colours and form of the countryside painting the picture in my head.
By my late teens I opted to work and pursue my love of art in evening classes. In 1981 I met my husband and moved to Maidstone where we now live with our four children close to the River Medway and surrounding countryside. I work from my studio at home, exhibiting in London and Kent, selling my artwork to homes and my businesses both here and in Europe.
